CDMX / Museo Frida Khalo

The Museo Frida Khalo also known as the Casa Azul was at the top of our Mexico City list and we’re so glad we were able to experience it. This museum is special in that it focuses on Frida’s life- exhibits feature her photography, the painful corsets she wore after her accident, her folk art collection, and her studio overlooking her beloved garden.

Even today the joy and care that went into the garden can be felt, as well as the tranquility it must have brought Frida and Diego. The main focus is the colorful pyramid built by Diego featuring their collection of pre-columbian sculptures, some of which are sprinkled throughout the courtyard space. Their personalities and love of color, life and beauty are reflected in their garden, a lovely reminder of what's really important when creating spaces of our own.

We took a full 360° panoramic image of the courtyard space, view here and go fullscreen for full effect.
